This Fall, The Nightingale Centre challenges you to Donate Your Drink!
From October 2nd — October 16th, give up your coffee, tea, glass of wine or favourite beverage — for a day, a week, until the 16th or anything in between, then donate what you would have spent to The Nightingale Centre.

Even the smallest donation can have a big impact.
$5 could fund a picture frame for one child, to honor the person who died, in our grief support groups
$10 could fund a grief kit for a family to help them understand and navigate their loss $25 could fund a child's attendance at one of our grief support group sessions $50 could fund the development of one tip sheet to provide families with detailed information about a specific topic or loss $100 could fund the weekly rental cost for space for one grief support group session $200 could fund a child or youth's attendance in one 8 week grief support group session
Take the money you would spend on your beverage of choice and use that money for good.
The death of a parent or sibling has been found to be one of the most stressful life events a child or youth can experience.
1 in 14 children will experience the death of a parent or sibling by the time they turn 18 years old.
Every year, 1 child in every other classroom is bereaved.
203,000 children under 18 years will experience the death of someone in their extended family.
For every person who dies, 8-10 people are profoundly affected. (Children and Youth Grief Network).

Since 2019, The Nightingale Centre for Grieving Children, Youth, and Families has been providing support to young people and their families who are grieving, while building a community of courage and hope through shared significant and often sudden loss experiences.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a supportive and understanding environment and no family in our community should grieve alone.
Donate your drink and bring hope to a grieving heart.
Here are 5 ways that donating to The Nightingale Centre will make an impact:
Helping Kids and Families
Our grief support programs provide essential support to children and families who are experiencing the loss of a loved one. These programs offer a safe and supportive environment for children to express their feelings and connect with others who are going through a similar experience.
Improving Access to Support
Not all families have access to grief support and services. Donating to The Nightingale Centre can help ensure that these services are available to all families who need them.
Reducing Stigma
Grief is a normal response to loss, but there can be stigma and shame associated with grieving, especially for children. Help us reduce the stigma around grief and promote a greater understanding and acceptance of the grieving process.
Building Stronger Communities
The Nightingale Centre relies 100% on donations to fund our critical services. Our programs and support are offered at no cost to our families, thanks to the generous contributions of past participants, sponsors, foundations, friends, neighbours and our community. You can help us build a stronger and supportive community, where families have the resources and support they need.
Making a Difference
Donating to The Nightingale Centre is a tangible way to make a difference in the lives of children and families who are going through a difficult time. Even a small donation can have a significant impact on the programs and services that are available to support grieving children and families.
Thank you for your support
Together, we can bring the grieving children, youth and families in our community hope and healing during one of the most challenging times in their lives.
