Dedicated grief and bereavement support.
The Nightingale Centre is committed to developing our support offerings as we continue to build our capacity to meet the grief and bereavement needs of the young people and their families in Guelph and Wellington County.
Family Bereavement Program
The Family Bereavement Program is designed to provide bereavement counselling to children ages 6 – 12 years through a trained children’s grief counsellor.
These children are in a vulnerable time in their lives, and having the right support during the grieving process is essential to helping them cope with their feelings.
Youth Bereavement Program
The Youth Bereavement Program is for supporting bereaved youth between the ages of 13 – 18 years old.
The goal of the program is to create a supportive and safe environment where grieving adolescents have the opportunity to connect with other youth who are also grieving the death of a parent or sibling.
Suicide Bereavement Program
The Family Suicide Bereavement Program is designed to provide parental peer support, along with grief counselling for children and adolescents, to families who have experienced a death by suicide of a parent or sibling.
Education & Consultation
Education and Consultation workshops designed to help families, professionals, volunteers, and community members learn about supporting grieving children and youth will be offered periodically in the community.
