Dedicated grief and bereavement support.
The Nightingale Centre is committed to developing our support offerings as we continue to build our capacity to meet the grief and bereavement needs of the young people and their families in Guelph and Wellington County.
Children Bereavement Program
The Children Bereavement Program is designed to provide grief and bereavement counselling to children ages 6 – 12 years through a trained children’s grief counsellor.
These children are in a vulnerable time in their lives, and having the right support during the grieving process is essential to helping them cope with their feelings.
Youth Bereavement Program
The Children Bereavement Program is designed to provide grief and bereavement counselling to youth ages 13 – 19 years through a trained grief counsellor.
The program’s goal is to create a supportive and safe environment where grieving adolescents have the opportunity to connect with other youth who are also grieving the death of a parent or sibling.
Parent/Caregiver Support Program
Parents and caregivers of children and youth who attend a bereavement program at The Nightingale Centre can participate in a concurrent support program.
Education & Consultation
Education and Consultation workshops are designed to help families, professionals, volunteers, and community members with supporting grieving children and youth, and are held periodically.
